FedEx Ground exempt from stay-at-home orders — Travel Authorization Letter can be shown:
Operations We are seeing federal, state and local governments implementing limitations on business operations – such as orders to stay indoors. These limitations do not apply to the services provided by FedEx Ground and the service providers operating on behalf of FedEx Ground, due to the crucial role we play in maintaining commerce and the economy. A Travel Authorization Letter can be downloaded and printed for use by service provider personnel in the event they are stopped by authorities in a state with work or travel restrictions due to COVID-19.

3/16/2020
Topics: Operations The FMCSA issued an emergency declaration (under 49 CFR § 390.23) suspending federal hours-of-service (HOS) regulations for operations engaged in emergency relief related to COVID-19. Day-to-day FedEx Ground operations do not qualify for the emergency relief, which applies only to direct support of emergency relief. Motor carriers and drivers remain responsible for ensuring that drivers are receiving enough rest and are not operating while fatigued. Details with respect to targeted, limited relief from HOS rules for COVID-19 emergency efforts are available on the FMCSA’s website. Please reach out to a local FedEx Ground Safety representative with any questions. 03/16/2020
